RODRÍGUEZ
Hello and welcome to my website!
Here, I collect and present my art, research, and work in the fields of culture and education.
In my diverse artistic practice, I experiment with materials and embrace different media, with a focus on contextual, relational, and participatory aesthetics. I often incorporate decolonial and feminist strategies into my work. My research-based artistic projects take various forms, such as painting, installations, and performance, and are closely linked to my writing and editing practices. Working collectively is fundamental to my work. Over the past few years, I have designed and implemented several artistic research projects with colleagues and teaching projects with students. My approach aims to connect theoretical reflection with practice, through a self-reflexive and situated lens.
My academic interests, explored through formats such as lectures, workshops, symposiums, conversatorios, and other participatory engagements, have evolved in recent years from a general interest in the history of feminism and visual studies to a growing emphasis on Latin American decolonial thought, feminist philosophy of science and post-human approaches to relational ecologies. These interests have led me to rethink what it means to do art, write and teach. And how to think these in relationship to identity and migration, the personal and the political, collective memory construction, and the interrelationality with non-human beings. In my watercolor paintings, an ongoing series since 2021 consists of interactions with materials, as a way of thinking on fluidity and responsiveness. In my installation works, I have examined the cultural history of plants, my identity as a migrant in Austria, and the stereotyping of various social groups. I continue to develop projects that aim to reflect on the politics of public space and the role of women in the production and reproduction of life and knowledge.
